About Us
The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) is the public transit authority responsible for planning and constructing Skyline, Honolulu's rail transit system. It is the first fully automated, driverless urban light metro system in the United States and represents the largest public infrastructure project in the history of Hawaii.
Duties Summary
HART is seeking a candidate to join its Budget and Finance team to perform professional accounting functions as a primary work assignment, along with related services, and to work on various phases of a fiscal program. The authorized level for this recruitment is an Accountant III; with the possibility of filling at the Accountant IV level based on the candidate's qualifications.
Grade-Level Standards and Distinguishing Characteristics
Grade III:
This class is distinguished by responsibility for performing professional accounting work for a fiscal program, where the accounting functions are of a complex nature and are performed in accordance with standard accounting practices and the policies and objectives of the accounting system.
Grade IV:
This class is distinguished by its responsibility for performing the most difficult and complex accounting work for a fiscal program.
Minimum Qualification Requirements for the Class
Grade III:
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in accounting and two years of professional work experience in accounting.
Grade IV:
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in accounting and three years of experience in professional accounting.
