As an entry-level home health aide, your duties include tasks like preparing meals, assisting patients with daily activities, and performing general housekeeping. In your role as an HHA, you may monitor each patient, report any problems with their care, provide transportation assistance and general companionship, or perform other tasks as assigned. Home health aides may work with patients who have minor cognitive impairments, physical limitations, or other challenges, but this is not a medical role. Home health aides do not provide advanced medical care or treatment. Home health aides often work in shifts to provide 24/7 support to patients, so you may be asked to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
