Job description

Job Purpose and Impact
  • The Software Engineer partners to design and develop software applications and systems. With limited supervision, this job collaborates with cross functional teams to implement new software features to meet user needs and business goals and upgrade existing software to improve performance and functionality through writing clean, efficient and scalable code and troubleshooting and debugging moderately complex issues. This job also participates in code reviews to maintain high code quality and share knowledge with software engineering team members.

Key Accountabilities
  • Partners to design and develop high quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable and efficient codes.
  • Applies internal software deployment platform, methodologies and tools to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
  • Partners with cross functional team of product managers, designers and other engineers to gather moderately complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Writes and maintains moderately complex unit tests and integration tests, and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software.
  • Makes suggestions for improving the software development and deployment processes, and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Drafts and maintains comprehensive documentation for moderately complex software applications, deployment processes and system configurations.
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting for moderately complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution.

Qualifications
  • Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Experience building and scaling full-stack applications using the following languages/frameworks: React & typescript, Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python

Preferred:
    • Strong foundation in relational databases, with hands-on experience using PostgreSQL
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps delivery practices
    • Experience deploying and operating applications on cloud-native platforms
    • Proficiency with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows
    • Understanding of modern application architectures, cloud-native patterns, and security best practices
    • Experience or interest in developing, integrating, or enabling AI-driven solutions in a production environment

Additional:
  • The business will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position
  • This position requires onsite (hybrid) presence at our Midtown Atlanta Technology Hub or Wayzata, MN Office Center

Compensation Data
The expected salary for this position is $80,000-$120,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
