Material Handler
Department: Distribution Center Operations
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Atlanta, GA
Compensation: $20.00 / hour
Description
The Material Handler stores, ships, receives, and replenishes finished goods to fire sprinkler contractors by parcel, LTL, truckload, and/or private carrier
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for processing customer orders and filling distribution centers
  • Compiles, organizes, and prepares all orders as directed from the Shipping Supervisor
  • Operates a handheld scanner to scan barcodes and delivers materials to their target location
  • Operates forklift, lift truck, side loaders, pallet trucks, picker and other loading/stacking equipment
  • Responsible daily inspection of forklifts
  • Performs on-spot checking
  • Maintains and organizes warehouse storage including pallet consolidation and cleanliness of aisles
  • Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as directed

  • Knowledge of company products in terms of part numbers and product descriptions
