Electrical Engineers and Electrical Designers are responsible for the design, coordination, documentation, and delivery of electrical building systems for various environments. Depending on experience level, individuals may perform engineering calculations, prepare and review design documents, coordinate with project teams, manage tasks or projects, provide technical leadership, mentor others, and support business development activities. Responsibilities:

  • Prepares design documents under the supervision of experienced engineering and design staff. Prepares design documents, system layouts, drawings, schematics, and related documentation under the supervision of experienced engineering and design staff.
  • Assists with engineering calculations, basic design tasks, and research on products, systems, and applicable codes.
  • Supports the review of shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications and participates in field verification as directed
  • May participate in business development or pursuit activities under direct supervision and occasionally attend client, company, or industry events
  • Visits job sites for observation, learning, and professional development opportunities.
  • Continuously seeks to expand knowledge and fill gaps in industry or discipline expertise.
  • Develops proficiency in industry-standard software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering (i.e.: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and 1 year of relevant experience or 4 years of experience with high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
  • Additional certifications and accreditations aligned with the relevant technical field (e.g., BEMP, CPD, CDP, NICET, RCDD, etc.) preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in engineering design: basic knowledge of the A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards.
  • Knowledge may be applicable to a limited range of practice, project or program types.
  • Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu preferred.
  • High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels in a clear and concise manner.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Team oriented and willingness and ability to function in a highly collaborative environment, in group projects and leading less experienced designers.
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in this job description.
