Job description

TRC Talent Solutions client is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading design-build construction company specializing in data centers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex, high-profile projects that support some of the world's largest technology and cloud service providers.


What You'll Do
-Design and support mechanical systems for mission-critical data center facilities
-Develop HVAC, cooling, ventilation, and piping system designs
-Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documents
-Coordinate with electrical, structural, architectural, and construction teams throughout project execution
-Review equipment selections including CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and mechanical distribution systems
-Support construction teams during installation, startup, commissioning, and project turnover
-Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and constructability assessments
-Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements
-Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for technical accuracy
-Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical design and field issues


What We're Looking For
-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
3+ years of mechanical engineering experience in construction, consulting engineering, mission-critical facilities, industrial projects, or data centers
-Experience designing HVAC and cooling systems
-Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
-Understanding of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and mechanical engineering best practices
-Strong communication and collaboration skills
-Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
-EIT certification preferred; PE license is a plus
-Data center or mission-critical facility experience highly preferred
