Job Description

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support and scale our development infrastructure. This role involves managing Unix-based environments with a strong sysadmin focus, scaling environments from proof-of-concept (POC) to full-scale deployment and ensuring high system availability. The ideal candidate will have significant Unix proficiency and experience optimizing for performance and reliability in resource-constrained environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable Unix-based infrastructure for development, testing, and production, with the capability to expand POC environments to full enterprise deployment.
  • Automate build and deployment processes using CI/CD tools, optimizing workflows for scalability and efficiency.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, optimizing Unix environments for high availability and security.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless transitions from development to production.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or Ansible, with a focus on Unix system automation.
  • Manage containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), enabling efficient scaling across Unix-based environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with Unix/Linux systems administration in a DevOps capacity, including proficiency in shell scripting and command-line utilities.
