Job Title: HR Coordinator

Location: Beardstown, IL
Effective Date: 04/28/2026
Job Status: Full Time - Day Shift (Needs to be flexible)                  
FLSA Status: Salaried Non-Exempt
 
The HR Coordinator supports daily Human Resources operations by managing administrative tasks, maintaining employee records, assisting with payroll and benefits administration. They act as a central point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring policy compliance. Duties include providing administrative support to employees, assisting the HR Manager, and aiding with payroll processing functions.  An HR Coordinator position has a high level of understanding of all human resources procedures and assists with tasks throughout all areas of the HR department. Assists with guiding employees through various human resource processes, answering any questions they may have about policies.
The schedule for this position is Mon - Fri. From 0430 - 1330
Weekend work is required as scheduled
Split shift or B Shift required as needed
May need to cover coworker’s vacation shifts
 
QUALIFICATIONS:                  
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • MUST BE A TEAM PLAYER
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Computer knowledge required (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proficient typing and 10-key skills beneficial
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle confidential data securely. Great organizational skills
  • Great attendance record (Less than 2 points, for internal candidates) and no written warnings or suspensions in the last calendar year.
  • Self-motivated and work well without direct supervision and ability to follow instructions.
  • Minimum of 12 months clerical experience
  • Flexible scheduling required
  • Communication/public relations skills required
  • Ability to work 40+ hours (Flexible) 
  • Prior experience in unionized environment preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in meat processing or other manufacturing setting preferred
  • Bilingual skills helpful
  • Experience working with FMLA and FMLA Federal Compliances (Will train candidate)
  • PHR or SPHR preferred
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:

RELATIONSHIPS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administers unemployment claims, attends unemployment hearings.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc. Stays current on recent federal, state and case law changes and monitors labor law updates for changes that affect HR.
  • publishes and administers personnel policies.
  • Processing employee documentation.
  • Participating in HR projects
  • Processes and requests sick pay.
  • Processes paperwork and updates data in SAP.
  • May administer employee relations issues. Processes and implements formal disciplinary action of employees, initiates termination procedures and terminates employees as needed.
  • Prepares and maintains records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data. Maintains HRIS integrity.
  • Establishes, evaluates and maintains departmental reports and key indicators. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. 
  • Directs local benefits administration, enrollment and open enrollment meetings.

EDUCATION:
