Job description

The Body in White Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for managing seven or more Supplier Quality Engineers who oversee different supplier locations and parts to ensure high-quality products are produced and transported to Stellantis Assembly Plants. The Manager will provide support to the team and establish a vision for the group to ensure launch readiness as required, leading up to and including program launch. Supplier site visits and extended engagement at certain locations may be required. The Manager will also be responsible for working cross functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure proper designs, suppliers, and manufacturing processes are selected. The Manager of the group will play a large role in leading the directives and goals of the team they support and helping evaluate the talent within the organization.
Within the Supplier Quality Manager role, we ask to drive change within both plant manufacturing and component suppliers to resolve complex component issues. It is the Manager responsibility to ensure component suppliers' processes are robust and capable to stay on track and manage key component quality milestones through the engineers reporting to the manager. Overall, the manager will lead a team coordinating problem-solving activities with internal and external organizations and ensure best practices/lessons learned are applied across the several different vehicle programs.
Job responsibilities for a Body in White Supplier Quality Manager may include any of the following but not limited to:
  • Effectively analyze and communicate the performance of Body in White component suppliers providing parts from the US and Canada to Stellantis locations worldwide.
  • Coordinate the work of SQE's performing Advance Supplier Quality activities at all Body in White supplier locations.
  • Serve as focal point for coordination between Purchasing, Engineering, and all assigned Body in White suppliers.
  • Work with Engineering and Purchasing to assure that only the highest quality suppliers are considered for future product sourcing.
  • Work with supply base and Engineering to minimize Body in White component related warranty.
  • Manage top problem supplier and new business hold process for assigned Body in White suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Biomedical/Biomechanical/Bioengineering, Chemical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Mechatronics may also be considered.
  • 10+ years of work experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field plus a minimum of 3 years Program Management or similar experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in engineering or a master's in business administration
  • Green Belt or Black Belt skills (Red X/Shiann)
  • Quality certification
  • GD&T
  • Strong Conflict Resolution Skills
  • Experience in purchasing, engineering, supplier quality, supply chain, or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Body in White Components, Stamping processes, Metal welding.
