Job description

Advantage Surgical and Wound Care, along with its sister organization Lumina HealthCare, provides specialized health care services to patients in the post-acute environment through conservative, evidence-based care. We limit unnecessary and expensive treatments, emergency room visits, and hospitalizations. We achieve optimal outcomes by coordination, collaboration, and education with patients, their caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.

HR Coordinator – Support Staff Overview:
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support across key HR functions, including onboarding, employee records, and compliance. This role helps ensure smooth day-to-day HR operations and delivers a positive employee experience. The position is remote, part-time, typically 20–25 hours per week, an agreed upon schedule with some flexibility based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
•Onboarding Coordination — Prepare new-hire paperwork, ensure completion of I-9s, run background checks, and support first-day orientation.
•Employee Records Management — Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files, update HRIS data, and track required documentation including OIG exclusion lists.
•Benefits Administration — Support enrollment, answer basic employee questions, and coordinate with benefit vendors as needed.
•Timekeeping & Payroll Support — Assist with Training timesheet collection from new Providers and payroll preparation tasks.
•Compliance Tasks — Help maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws, including posting requirements, COI updates, training tracking, and policy updates.
•Employee Relations Support — Serve as a friendly, professional point of contact for employee questions and direct issues to HR leadership when appropriate.
•General HR Administration — Prepare documents including draft VOE’s, run reports, schedule meetings, and support HR projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
•Minimum 1–3 years of experience in human resources or administrative support
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
•Excellent communication and customer-service skills
•Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and digital onboarding tools
•Familiarity with California employment laws preferred

Work Schedule
•Part-time: 20–25 hours per week
•100% remote
•Occasional flexibility for peak HR periods (open enrollment, audits, etc.)

Physical, Environmental and Mental Requirements:
The HR Coordinator will work remotely using computers and monitors. The position requires frequent typing (finger dexterity), frequent reading and writing (visual acuity) and comfortable with being on camera throughout the day for interviews and meetings. Works well under pressure.
