Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' substance abuse histories and present mental health conditions, ensuring a foundational understanding of their needs.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that holistically address addiction alongside any co-occurring mental health issues, leveraging client-specific information.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the treatment team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and addiction specialists, to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to client care.
• Provide education and support to clients' families, encouraging their involvement in the recovery process and helping to foster a supportive home environment.
• Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation in line with all regulatory requirements, ensuring that all case notes reflect client progress and treatment interventions.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in addiction treatment methodologies, integrating these into practice where appropriate.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses primarily on serving individuals facing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, necessitating a culturally competent approach to therapy. You will apply both therapeutic skills and empathy to help clients navigate their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• A valid license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Specialized training or significant experience in addiction counseling, demonstrating a thorough understanding of treatment frameworks.
• Sound knowledge of evidence-based practices relevant to substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
• Strong therapeutic and counseling skills, with the capability to motivate and empower clients effectively.
• Excellent communication skills that facilitate teamwork and collaboration across various disciplines.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in an outpatient substance abuse treatment setting is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient case management and record-keeping.
• Experience creating and leading psychoeducational groups within the context of substance use recovery.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and credentials.
