What does an NJ (Nurse Jurisprudence) specialist do?

An NJ, or Nurse Jurisprudence specialist, is typically responsible for ensuring that nursing practices comply with state and federal laws and ethical standards. They provide guidance on legal aspects of patient care, help resolve ethical dilemmas, and educate staff about regulatory requirements. In some states, 'NJ' may refer to a nurse who has passed a Nurse Jurisprudence Exam, which assesses knowledge of nursing laws specific to that state. Their work helps protect both patients and healthcare providers from legal risks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Nurse (RN), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Registered Nurse, you need a strong foundation in clinical care, patient assessment, and medical knowledge, typically supported by a nursing degree and RN licensure. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHRs), patient monitoring equipment, and medication administration systems is essential. Empathy, adaptability, and clear communication are key soft skills for navigating patient needs and working within interdisciplinary teams. These skills ensure high-quality care, patient safety, and strong collaboration in fast-paced healthcare settings.

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst– Pharmacovigilance for a global pharmaceutical client.

This is a highly hands-on Business Intelligence and Analytics position supporting Pharmacovigilance/Drug Safety operations. We are looking for candidates who can actively build, develop, modify, and troubleshoot reporting solutions—not individuals whose experience is primarily managerial or oversight-focused.

This role is highly execution-focused and requires deep, practical experience working directly with reporting tools and data systems. The candidate will support scientific, operational, and regulatory reporting needs by developing actionable insights, maintaining reporting environments, and enabling informed decision-making across Patient Safety (PS).

The role reports to the Associate Director, PV Analytics Center of Excellence and requires strong technical expertise combined with the ability to work cross-functionally and independently deliver high-quality analytics.

This is a 40-hour per week, 12-month contract (extensions possible), 50% onsite role at the client’s office in Lawrenceville, NJ/ Madison, NJ/ New Brunswick, NJ. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri – Standard Hours

This is a W2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

Responsibilities:

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Build and continuously improve analytics models and dashboards to provide insights into efficiency, quality, KPIs, and stakeholder feedback
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting databases and analytics applications (SAP Business Objects, Power BI, SQL environments, and others)
  • Independently build, modify, and troubleshoot reports and dashboards (hands-on execution required)
  • Utilize internal systems and tools to streamline data retrieval and reduce manual processes
  • Aggregate, query, and analyze data to generate actionable insights and answer key business questions
  • Run recurring and ad hoc reports and present findings to leadership and stakeholders
  • Support monthly reporting and quarterly business reviews (activities, outcomes, trends)
  • Analyze stakeholder feedback/complaints and collaborate with functional leads to propose solutions
  • Ensure data integrity, traceability, and accuracy throughout the data lifecycle
  • Support validation activities including creation of validation plans, test scripts, and summary reports
  • Contribute to process improvement, innovation initiatives, and reporting enhancements
  • Provide metric reporting and analytics support for GBDS/Patient Safety initiatives

Requirements:

  • Must have advanced Power BI expertise (3–4+ years of hands-on experience)
  • Strong dashboard development and data modeling capabilities
  • Must have advanced SQL skills (advanced querying and data manipulation).
  • Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting reports independently
  • Able to maintain data integrity, support validation documentation, and deliver clear insights to stakeholders
  • Comfortable working across multiple reporting tools and adapting to evolving platforms
  • Pharmacovigilance/Drug Safety analytics experience is highly preferred
  • Strong PowerPoint, Word, and Excel Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
