Versatex is looking for Day and Night Material Handlers

COMPANY INFORMATION & POSITION DETAILS

VERSATEX Building Products is a manufacturing plant located in Aliquippa. We manufacture vinyl trim and sheet which can be used on the exterior or interior of homes. The material can be from 8โ€™ to 22โ€™ long / from 2โ€ wide boards up to 48โ€ wide sheet. This is an ENTRY LEVEL position in our warehouse in Aliquippa, as a material handler, which is a very fast paced and labor intensive position. You would be working in production at the end of the line where you will perform crucial quality control measurements and visual checks ensuring material meets our standards to within 1/32nd of an inch. As the checks are completed for each drop you would be moving the products from the line onto the skid then moving the skid for packaging and wrapping. This position is highly important as you are the last eyes on the material โ€“ making critical checks after the product is shipped to our customers.

Position Summary: Ensure materials are safely inspected, packaged, labeled, and moved to the Finished Goods Area, meeting Versatex's quality standards. Safely operate forklifts per Versatex SOPs.

Shifts: 7:00am-7:00pm or 7:00pm-7:00am

Pay: $22.00 (night shift will include a $1.50 shift differential)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in basic math (whole numbers, fractions, decimals).
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Solid attendance during the probationary period.
  • Complete Material Handler and Forklift Training Programs.
  • Independent in Material Handler duties (OC checks, packaging, labeling, etc.).
  • Proficient in Core computer system and Black Book Specs.
  • Operate Fox IV label printer and perform basic machine functions.
  • Perform Q.C fit testing and participate in Versatexโ€™s 5-S system.
  • Operate The Pulverizer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT:

  • Long periods of standing/walking; regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required.
  • Flexible shifts and overtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regular, punctual attendance.
  • Notify shift supervisor of problems.
  • Relay information to Group Leads and Supervisors.
  • Read/interpret safety rules, operating instructions, SOPs.
  • Perform basic math and count boards/sheets.
  • Recognize/report machine issues.
  • Follow line schedule, Black Book, and QC specs.
  • Maintain โ€œ5Sโ€ program standards.
  • Perform visual inspections; report defects to Machine Operator.
  • Execute/explain PPE and 5-S SOPs.
  • Understand all QC checks and use tools for timely Q.C checks.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in Fab work areas.

QUALITY:

  • Report quality issues; prevent out-of-spec material from entering finished goods.
  • QC and package materials per Versatex quality standards.
