Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with travel experience for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license.

Details
  • Medical-Surgical ICU unit within a hospital setting
  • 3x12-hour night shifts with block scheduling, 19:00-7:00
  • Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license required (State or Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration)
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, or Trauma Level II settings preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Respiratory skills including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
  • Experience managing patients with acute/chronic renal failure and CVVHD/CRRT
  • Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation
  • Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and IV insulin protocols
  • Infection prevention and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge required
Additional Information
  • Care for critically ill medical-surgical ICU patients requiring close monitoring and multidisciplinary intervention
  • Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be accepted
  • Locals residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No travel pairs or groups accepted
  • All RTO must be listed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
  • Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Orientation includes onsite completion of required training modules
