Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit position requiring TX or compact RN license, telemetry experience, and NIH Stroke certification.

Details
  • Work in the Med/Surg 3E unit of a hospital environment
  • 28-bed unit staffed with 32 FTEs including charge nurses, RNs, and PCTs
  • Patient ratios range from 5:1 to 6:1
  • Uses Video EEG, Hoyer Lift, Bladder Scanner, Vital Sign Machine, and Telemetry equipment
  • Meditech EMR used
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month
  • No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • Hospital experience required
  • 3 or more years of nursing experience preferred
  • Epilepsy care experience preferred
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit with telemetry monitoring
  • Navy blue scrubs with facility logo required
  • Ideal candidates are open to feedback and demonstrate ownership of their work
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
