Night Shift (Hours: 7p-7a) Weekends & Holidays per the department guidelines.

ChristianaCare Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) who is passionate about caring for the elderly population.
Unit Overview
6A is a dedicated medical unit that cares for patients facing a range of challenging health conditions. The patient may arrive with serious surgical issues, such as fractured hips, or they may be recovering from a stroke. Other common conditions include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), back pain, and urinary tract infections (UTIs). In addition to these immediate medical concerns, many patients may also have underlying issues like dementia, which adds complexity to their care and requires a compassionate, comprehensive approach from the medical team.
Our nurses care for five medical patients during each shift and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, which includes a unit-based Nurse Practitioner, attending and consulting physicians, pharmacy staff, physical therapists, and other support personnel.

Education & Requirements:
  • DE RN License or a Compact Nursing License is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Candidates with an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) must obtain a BSN within three years of the hire date.
  • All registered nurses (RNs) must have one year of experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
  • A demonstrated passion for working with older adults is essential.
  • Gerontology Certification preferred.
  • BLS required.

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
