Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Service Technician with expertise in Siemens molecular imaging SPECT systems (Symbia, Symbia Intevo, Symbia Evo, Pro.Specta etc.) to serve as an escalation point for complex application, software, and connectivity-related customer issues. This is a customer-facing technical role focused on rapid resolution of DICOM, PACS, network connectivity, software installation, and Syngo configuration problems. The position combines remote support with occasional on-site escalation visits and requires exceptional troubleshooting skills, customer communication, and ownership of high-impact cases through resolution.

Primary Responsibilities

Act as the escalation owner for customer complaints related to:

DICOM conformance, image transfer failures, modality worklist issues, storage commitment, and query/retrieve problems

PACS integration issues (all major vendors - Sectra, GE, Philips, Agfa, McKesson, Fuji, etc.)

Network connectivity, firewall/port configuration, VPN, and HIS/RIS interface problems

Software installations, upgrades, patches, and update instruction procedures

Syngo platform configuration (syngo.via, syngo.plaza, MI Applications, acquisition consoles, e.soft, etc.)

Perform remote diagnostic sessions via TeamViewer and other remote tools, on-site visits when remote resolution is not possible

Reproduce customer-reported issues in laboratory or virtual environments, create test cases, and validate fixes

Collaborate closely with Level 1 support, Field Service Engineers, Applications Specialists, and R&D/Factory Support teams

Document all cases thoroughly in Solution@Sense and service tools, create knowledge base articles, and contribute to known issue databases

Drive critical situations (system down, major clinical impact) to resolution with clear customer communication and executive updates when required

Conduct proactive health checks and post-installation connectivity/verification audits when needed

Required Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience supporting Siemens SPECT or SPECT/CT systems (Symbia family strongly preferred) in a clinical environment

Expert-level knowledge of Syngo acquisition and processing software (MI Cardiology, MI Neurology, MI Oncology, MI General packages)

Advanced DICOM troubleshooting skills (able to analyze DICOM headers, use tools like DicomPing, Offis DCMTK, Wireshark for DICOM traffic)

Proven experience resolving PACS connectivity issues across multiple vendor platforms

Strong understanding of Windows Server/Client OS, SQL databases, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls)

Experience with IHE integration profiles (SWF, PIR, CPI, etc.) and HL7 interfaces

Excellent customer communication skills with demonstrated ability to manage frustrated clinical staff and de-escalate high-pressure situations

Ability to travel up to 30% for on-site escalations (primarily domestic, occasional international)

Preferred Qualifications

Siemens Factory Training certifications (Symbia, syngo.via, MI Applications)

CIIP (Certified Imaging Informatics Professional) or PARCA certification

Experience with NM-specific software (Cedars QGS/QPS, Emory Cardiac Toolbox, 4DM, Corridor4DM)

Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements in healthcare (HIPAA, FDA cybersecurity guidelines)

Previous escalation or Level 3 support role experience

Location & Work Arrangement

Hoffman Estates-based (United States, Chicago) with preference for candidates near major airports

The base pay range for this position is:

$83,220 - $114,433

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
