JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Maintenance Engineer- NIGHT SHIFT
Department: Engineering
Supervision Exercised: None
Supervision Received: Engineering Supervisor / Assistant Chief Engineer / Chief Engineer
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades preferred.

Experience
  • Previous maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial building preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures required.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical repairs a plus.

Skills and Knowledge
  • General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Understanding of safety practices, OSHA standards, and proper tool usage.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various physical environments.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
  • Complete work orders, PM tasks, and repair logs in the work order system.
  • Assist with painting, carpentry, caulking, and other cosmetic repairs.
  • Inspect guest rooms for proper functionality of lights, outlets, AC units, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the engineering shop and mechanical areas.
  • Support setup for special projects, events, or furniture movements when needed.
  • Monitor and report equipment issues requiring advanced repair or vendor support.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by engineering leadership.
