Job Title: CT / X-Ray Technologist – Night Shift
Job Location: Craig, CO
Working Hours: Full-Time | Night Shift

Job Type: Permanent | Direct Hire

Salary:  USD $61,110 to $91,665

Position summary

The CT/X-Ray Technologist – Night Shift provides high-quality diagnostic imaging services across CT and general radiography, supporting emergency and inpatient care during overnight hours. This role requires independent clinical judgment, strong technical skills, and a commitment to patient safety, service excellence, and regulatory compliance.​

Key responsibilities
  • Perform CT and diagnostic radiologic imaging exams according to departmental and radiologist-approved protocols.​

  • Practice radiation safety and shielding in compliance with ALARA standards and departmental policies.​

  • Verify exam orders, confirm patient identity using approved identifiers, and educate patients on procedures to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation.​

  • Obtain informed consent when required and document relevant patient medical history accurately in the record.

  • Perform quality control and routine equipment checks, ensuring scanners and X-ray units are functioning within specifications.​

  • Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and coordinate service support or escalation as needed.​

  • Assist with clerical tasks, patient transport, inventory management, and support for call, weekends, and holidays as required.​

Required qualifications & skills
  • ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and CT (CT), or eligibility and willingness to obtain CT within 1 year.​

  • Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

  • Active state radiologic technologist license as required by state regulations.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision during night shift.​

  • Strong knowledge of CT and X-ray imaging procedures, anatomy, radiation safety, and quality control practices.​

  • Effective communication and documentation skills, including use of electronic medical record and imaging systems.​

  • Comfort working nights, participating in call rotation, and adapting to changing workload and priorities.

Preferred qualifications
  • Registration or experience in two or more imaging modalities (CT, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, etc.).​

  • Prior experience as a practicing technologist in a hospital or emergency setting.

  • Cross-training or willingness to train in additional modalities based on department needs.

  • Experience with PACS, RIS/HIS, and electronic medical records in a diagnostic imaging environment.​

  • Multimodality imaging expertise and technical accuracy in CT and X-ray.

  • Patient safety, radiation protection, and adherence to ALARA principles.​

  • Quality control, equipment checks, and basic troubleshooting.
