Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Night Shift Operations Supervisor to lead our evening transportation and warehouse operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working nights, thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, and can effectively manage both people and operations.  Temp to hire $30-35/hr.   Located in Oakland, CA Night Shift: 5:00 PM – 3:30 AM

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all overnight operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
  • Coordinate driver dispatch and assign delivery routes to optimize productivity and on-time performance.
  • Review transportation schedules and make route adjustments as operational demands require.
  • Manage daily warehouse floor activities, maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Act as the primary contact for drivers, warehouse staff, and customers during overnight operations.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges while making timely decisions to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Support employee scheduling, workforce planning, and daily labor assignments.
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and DOT regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor shipment progress, track delivery status, and communicate updates when necessary.
  • Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and company software systems to monitor performance and maintain operational data.

Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse, or food distribution operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of dispatch operations and delivery route coordination.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising and developing a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard computer applications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
