Job description

A hospital in Corpus Christi is seeking a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse to join its night shift team. This role provides the opportunity to deliver direct inpatient care to adult medical and surgical patients in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Position Overview

The Med/Surg RN is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to hospitalized patients with a variety of medical and post-surgical conditions. The role includes ongoing assessment, care planning, medication administration, and coordination with interdisciplinary team members to support safe recovery and continuity of care throughout hospitalization.

This position requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple patient needs during overnight operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult medical and surgical patients on a night shift unit
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Administer medications and monitor patient response and outcomes
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
• Support discharge planning and continuity of care processes
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and evidence-based nursing practices

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
