Shift: Night Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3×12-hour shifts)
Schedule: Every 3rd weekend required | Holidays as needed

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join an Inpatient Acute Care Rehab unit within Cone Health. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with neurological and rehabilitation needs, including post-stroke and post-surgical recovery. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, supporting rehabilitation goals, and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care for patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injuries, and neurological conditions
  • Perform medication reconciliation, vital signs monitoring, and patient assessments
  • Interpret laboratory results and monitor patient progress
  • Perform dressing changes and set up sterile/aseptic procedure trays
  • Collect and label specimens (capillary, throat, urine – clean catch) and assist with phlebotomy
  • Handle telephone triage and pharmacy/patient refill requests
  • Document all patient care accurately using EPIC
  • Support rehabilitation-focused care plans and patient recovery goals
Requirements:
  • Active RN License (required at submission)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience
  • Travel experience required (no first-time travelers)
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Must pass EKG/Dysrhythmia interpretation exam (Pass/Fail) during compliance
  • Experience in Acute Care Rehab preferred
Unit Details:
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
  • Daily Census: ~39 patients
  • Unit Type: Inpatient Rehab (49 beds)
  • Float required across all Cone Health campuses
Additional Details:
  • COVID-19 Vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • Flu Vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • 50-mile radius rule (no locals accepted)
  • Must complete full compliance by Wednesday prior to start (12 Noon EST)
  • Background check: No open cases accepted
  • Orientation: 24 hours
  • Modules: 2–4 hours (non-billable, completed during orientation)
