SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise and manage the activities of housekeeping department staff and assist in the management of all housekeeping department operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Is responsible for assisting in the management and performance of the housekeeping department staff including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, payroll activities and training and development activities.
  2. Ensures that housekeeping department staff are providing exceptional guest services to assist in guest relations and the overall profitability of the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.
  1. Executes numerous housekeeping and cleaning activities to ensure cleanliness of facilities
  2. May assist in the performance of housekeeping department staff activities to ensure guest expectations and housekeeping department operations are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Assists in the monitoring of internal operations including daily operations, scheduling and management of policies and procedures.
  4. Works closely with the housekeeping manager to analyze department performance and implements enhancements and changes to maximize efficiencies.
  5. Is responsible for participating in the development and adherence to the housekeeping department budget that may include staff and equipment forecasting.
  6. Responsible for recommending and maintaining housekeeping department objectives, standards and policies and procedures for review by the Housekeeping Manager.
  7. Notifies manager, security or facility administrator of situations that may affect guests, associates or the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the direct supervision of approximately eight associates.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Operates independently with supervision received from the Housekeeping Manager. May review major or unusual decisions with Housekeeping Manager.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Internal: Frequent contact with associates at all levels within all departments of the organization.
  2. External: Continual contact with guests and visitors.

EDUCATION: A High School education or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year supervisory experience in a housekeeping or a customer focused environment is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, delegation, problem solving, and people management skills. Must be able to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact. Must maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations as necessary.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Work Conditions: The majority of position responsibilities are performed on the gaming floor and within other Lake of the Torches Resort Casino properties as designated with exposure to differentials in temperature.
  2. Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to situations where hazardous chemicals, spills, wet floors of guest behaviors may create undesirable conditions.
  3. Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend or lift for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate housekeeping machinery for extended periods of time.

OTHER: Must attend all mandatory meetings and participate in departmental training and development sessions.
