Originally built in 1986 and renovated in 2014, Poppy Hills Golf Course was the first course in the United States to be owned and operated by an amateur golf association, currently serving as the headquarters and tournament home of the NCGA. Bringing together breathtaking design, the NCGA's high standard of course conditioning and hospitality and golf's greatest landscape, Poppy Hills welcomes you to put the busy world behind you and surround yourself in nature. Each uniquely crafted hole is chiseled through the towering Monterey Pines of the Del Monte Forest, offering sneak peaks of the beautiful and iconic Monterey Bay and a chance to watch playful young deer among the freshly sprung California Poppy.
Position: Outside Services Attendant
Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director, Golf
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Outside Service Attendant presents a professional and positive image of the organization while attending to the needs of NCGA Members and guests before, during, and after their round at Poppy Hills. They will be responsible for maintenance of the golf car fleet, driving range, and exterior clubhouse facilities. This position will receive direct supervision and are expected to work collectively together to service the patrons of Poppy Hills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Represent Poppy Hills in a professional manner using tact, diplomacy and courtesy when interacting with guests and assisting with Golf Course activities
  • Assist guests at the beginning and end of their rounds, ensuring they are properly set up with golf carts or push carts, their clubs are cleaned at the end of each round, etc.
  • Ensure that all golf cars are properly cleaned and stocked before and after play.
  • Ensure that the practice tee is set up according to the weekly schedule, and that is maintained in a clean, orderly manner throughout the day.
  • Ensure that working areas are neat and clean at all times and take the initiative to find and complete tasks when not attending to guests.
  • Monitor pace of play with assistance from the golf professionals.
  • Ensure that players are made aware of the rules and any special or daily play conditions/restrictions on the course.
  • Verify accuracy of sales tickets as it relates to services.
  • Respect fellow employees and maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.
  • Attend all mandatory team meetings.
  • Additional duties as assigned, including professional development.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This is a part-time, Non-Exempt position, with a starting salary of $16.90 per hour. Some clothing will be provided, with the employee expected to source and maintain a high-standard of attire at all times. Participation in the company's 401k plan after one full year of employment. Sick leave, holidays, meals, and golf benefits also included.
