Purgatory Golf Club in Hamilton County, IN is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a seasonal full-time Line Cook & Event Banquet Cook. We are seeking a driven, versatile, high-energy Line & Event Cook individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. Purgatory is a premier golf and event destination in Hamilton County. We are known for our scenic course, BBQ and smoked meats, and hosting exceptional events-from high-energy golf outings to elegant weddings. We pride ourselves on a collaborative kitchen culture and a work environment that offers a better quality of life than traditional late-night restaurants.
Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour DOE
Position Overview
This unique role bridges the gap between fast-paced restaurant line cooking and high-volume banquet execution. You will spend your days prepping and cooking for our daily golf restaurant menu, while seamlessly pivoting to prepare upscale, high-volume buffets and plated dinners for our private events, weddings, and golf outings.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Line Cook:
    • Set up, stock, and execute the daily restaurant grill menu with speed, consistency, and high quality.
  • Banquet & Event Prep:
    • Scale recipes accurately to prep, cook
    • plate food for events ranging from 20 to 150+ guests (weddings, corporate events, golf outings)
  • Station Management:
    • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation in compliance with health department standards
  • Teamwork:
    • Coordinate closely with front-of-house staff and event coordinators to ensure smooth food timing and presentation

Qualifications:
  • 1-2+ years of experience as a line cook, prep cook, or catering/banquet cook
  • Ability to pivot quickly between short-order cooking and bulk event prep
  • Strong knife skills and understanding of various cooking techniques (smoking, grilling, roasting, braising)
  • Reliable transportation to our Hamilton County location
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
