Asphalt Foreman Division/Operation Dickinson Operations Project Location Dickinson, ND
Position Overview -
We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious individual who works well under pressure and possesses a strong work ethic to join our Dickinson Operations as an Asphalt Foreman. This position will assist to supervise mainline operations of asphalt paving. Depending on project status &/or specifications, night paving may also be required.
Essential Job Function -
  • Oversight: production, equipment (needs and maintenance), personnel, quality control testing, documentation, communication with General Asphalt Superintendent
  • Read and understand plans and specifications
  • Assist with testing and mix design by working with testing personnel in various capacities
  • Work with the owner's representative
  • Enforce safety regulations
  • Efficiently operate equipment used in road construction
  • Train crew members to become efficient equipment operators
  • Prepare various daily reports and track quantities of daily work
  • Assist General Asphalt Superintendent to hire field crew (i.e. truck drivers, operators, laborers)
  • Perform other related duties as required, directed, or as the situation dictates

Essential Job Requirements -
  • Ability to pass exams to receive certification in basic aggregate & hot mix asphalt testing
  • Possess a valid driver license (Class A or B license preferred)
  • Travel required within a 300-mile radius of Dickinson, ND
  • Work Experience Minimum: 2 full seasons crew supervision & 5 full seasons on an asphalt crew

Physical Requirements -
  • Ability to walk on uneven ground, climb, reach (including overhead), grasp, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist (including neck), manipulate objects, use a telephone and/or communication equipment, perform moderate lifting, and sit for extended periods of time (typically in a vehicle)
  • Ability to see and hear well - either naturally or with correction - and speak clearly
  • Common-level verbal and written communication skills
