Objectives Knox County Transit is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Transit Driver to safely operate transit vehicles for the Night Bus program in Knox County. Drivers are trusted ambassadors for our organization, providing exceptional service while ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely and comfortably. Knox County is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Essential Functions As a Transit Driver, you will: Safely operate transit vehicles while following all traffic laws and safety regulations. Transport passengers on scheduled routes throughout Knox County.

Provide courteous, professional customer service to riders of all ages and abilities. Assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles, including those using wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, and other mobility devices. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Maintain accurate passenger counts, fare records, manifests, and route documentation. Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, schedule updates, and passenger needs. Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming vehicle for every rider.

Dependable and predictable attendance. Other duties as assigned. Job Standards High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications. Ability to safely assist passengers, including those with mobility devices.
