ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Assists Athletic Coordinators in all aspects of NFL Flag Football, Jr. NBA Basketball, and Track & Field programs
  • Assist with delivering outreach sports to multiple neighborhood parks, community center and partners.
  • Sets up and tears down program areas
  • Keeps time and score at NFL Flag Football and Jr. NBA Basketball Games
  • Records statistics at sporting events, record attendance and progress of participants
  • Assists with supervising youth in programming (NFL Flag Football, Jr. NBA Basketball, Track & Field)
  • Communicates with parents and coaches regularly, answering inquires related to Youth Sports programming
  • Utilize the Rockford Park District's HRIS system for all HR and payroll-related requirements and to accurately clock in and out for all shifts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Prior referee experience a plus
  • Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends
  • Good organizational and leadership skills for daily supervision and direction of participants
  • Have a working technical knowledge of football, basketball, track & field, and tennis
  • Ability to communicate well with parents, participants, and coaches
  • Ability to problem solve in a variety of situations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and demonstrate flexibility as a team player
  • Ability to work in stressful conditions, including situations involving disability related needs and dissatisfied customers
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED training (can be obtained through the Rockford Park District)
