A national leader in foreign direct investment, South Carolina extends its international reach with representation in Europe and Asia, ensuring the state remains a top, global business destination from launch to legacy. Job Purpose: The SC NEXUS Marketing & Communications Intern will support strategic communications and marketing initiatives for SC NEXUS, a federally designated Tech Hub advancing energy innovation across South Carolina. This role offers hands-on experience in brand management, content development, stakeholder engagement and event coordination within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

The intern will assist in executing integrated marketing efforts that elevate the SC NEXUS brand, highlight project impact, and support collaboration across industry and academia. Job Responsibilities: Support the execution of marketing and communications campaigns across digital and print platforms. Draft and edit content for newsletters, press releases, website updates, and social media channels, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and AP style.

Assist in maintaining and organizing marketing assets, including presentations, collateral, and visual content. Coordinate logistics and communications for events, workshops, and stakeholder engagements. Conduct research to support storytelling, reporting, and strategic messaging initiatives.

Monitor and report on engagement metrics to inform marketing performance and optimization. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent, high-quality communication. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and relevant program experience.

A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience. Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Journalism. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.

Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop; preferred) Experience with Canva or similar design platforms Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact or Klaviyo) Understanding of social media analytics and performance tracking Experience with project management tools (e.g., Basecamp or Monday.com) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
