Seeking a Carrier Development Representative skilled in sourcing and onboarding open‑deck carriers, managing carrier relationships, and developing competitive pricing strategies for a 3PL.

The Carrier Development Representative is responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and nurturing relationships with asset-based carriers to support our customers’ freight needs. This role blends sales, relationship management, and operational strategy. You’ll be the voice of our carrier network—identifying capacity, negotiating rates, and ensuring every carrier meets our safety and compliance standards.
What You’ll Do
  • Build and maintain a high‑quality network of asset-based flatbed, step‑deck, and specialized carriers
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with carrier partners to secure consistent capacity
  • Negotiate competitive rates while balancing service, reliability, and margin goals
  • Monitor carrier performance, safety ratings, insurance compliance, and service quality
  • Collaborate with operations and sales teams to match carrier capacity with customer demand
  • Identify market trends, capacity shifts, and pricing opportunities

About You
  • 3+ years experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, and carrier development with open‑deck trailers.
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator with strong interpersonal skills; able to build rapport with carriers and internal teams
  • Growth mindset: eager to learn, open to feedback, and continuously looking to improve your skills and industry knowledge
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
