Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

To support the Purchasing Manager to develop and maintain cost effective new home construction estimates and supporting budgets. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generates PO’s at Start of Construction
  • Reviews and Corrects Part PO’s (Lumber, Party Wall, Windows, Doors, Exterior Features, Exterior Columns, Exterior Rails, Structural Wiring, Interior Trim, Interior Doors, Flooring, Electrical Fixtures, Appliances.)
  • Generates and manages PO’s due to Change Orders
  • Process and Generate BuildPro EPO’s
  • Process and Generate Zero Dollar PO’s
  • Manage PO vendor questions and issues
  • Manage Production Invoice vendor questions and issues
  • Assist Purchasing Manager with Month ECC process by monitoring BuildPro remaining tasks.  Communicate unfinished task to Production Manager.
  • Assist on Takeoffs for Part Crafts (Lumber, Party Wall, Windows, Doors, Exterior Features, Exterior Columns, Exterior Rails, Structural Wiring, Interior Trim, Interior Doors, Flooring, Electrical Fixtures, Appliances)
  • Manage Corporate Rebates Quarterly
  • Manages the Trade Partners and their contract files (Red Folder) ensuring current pricing , scope of work, contract, etc… is signed by all Trades
  • Other duties as apparent or assigned (Tasks will be revised monthly as needed)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office software applications, i.e. MS Excel
  • Knowledge of Newstar purchasing software is a plus
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Knowledge of new home construction process is required
  • Valid driver's license

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma required, college degree preferred OR
  • 1-2 years of residential homebuilding or estimating experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
