Job description

Scope: Responsible for volunteer engagement at the Northwest Community Center.
Ministry/Department: Outreach / Northwest Community Center
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm; Monthly on Saturdays from 8am - 1pm
Supervisor: Refugee Ministry Director
Supervises: None
Employment Type: Full Time, Exempt
Environment: Office / Community
Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight and leadership in the following ministry areas at the Northwest Community Center:
    • Baby Showers - Planning and coordination.
    • Volunteer Stewardship - Recruiting, onboarding, developing, encouraging and retaining.
    • Refugee Engagement - Facilitating meaningful connections and support.
    • Resource Distribution - Supporting through planning and logistics.
    • Internship Program - Managing undergraduate and graduate student internships.
    • Equipping Workshops - Organizing sessions such as Refugee 101, refugee simulation, Perspectives.
    • Vickery Christmas Market - Organizing and executing event logistics.
    • Serving Recruitment Events - Participating and representing the NCC at Northwest events.
    • Special Events - Collaborate with Outreach team members to execute key events such as Fall Fun Fest and World Passion Week and engage with external partners to support community programs.
    • Community Engagement - Create and maintain meaningful connections with influential individuals and organizations in Vickery Meadow-such as schools, ministries, mission partners, and community leaders.
  • Other Responsibilities include:
    • Routinely communicate among the Northwest body the work that God is doing in Vickery Meadow.
    • Maintain the Northwest Community Center volunteer database.
    • Oversee Northwest Community Center's social media and newsletter across various platforms.
    • Collaborate with a graphic designer to develop compelling creative and promotional materials for the Northwest Community Center.
    • Participate in mission events to actively recruit volunteers and promote service opportunities at the Northwest Community Center.
    • Conduct ongoing evaluations of ministry efforts and proactively share insights, opportunities, and needs with the Refugee Ministry Director.
    • Carry out other duties as necessary to support organizational goals.

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and networks is a plus.
