About Harbor Eye Associates
This practice was founded in 1978 by Dr. David J. Dexter, and recently moved to its current location to serve a growing community. For over 40 years, Harbor Eye Associates has provided full-service optometry to families and residents in Oswego County of all ages, insurances, and visual/medical diagnoses. The Optometrists provide comprehensive eye care and specialize in glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, cataracts, macular degeneration, and co-management of laser vision correction surgery. The practice is centrally located on East First Street and is easily accessible from NY-104 and NY-481. To support the continued growth of Harbor Eye Associates, as well as its community outreach efforts, Dr. Dexter is looking to add an additional provider to its staff of 17 employees.
This fast-paced, Optometry practice uses state-of-the-art vision care technology to diagnose and treat a wide array of eye diseases. The practice is well-appointed with automated optical equipment and behind-the-scenes functional technology that includes digital retinal imaging, high-definition OCT, and threshold visual field. Online appointment scheduling and office communications are offered via text messaging. Patients enjoy a family-friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of eyewear from a newly redesigned optical boutique.
About the opening
Harbor Eye Associates is seeking one full-time Doctor of Optometry Associate who is passionate about providing personalized and individualized care to ensure excellent eye health and vision care for all patients. In this role, you'll perform in-depth eye exams for vision and ocular health, and handle eye emergencies as needed. A candidate who is interested in primary care, pediatric eye care, contact lenses, and ocular diseases would be a complimentary addition to the team. The Associate O.D. will work 40 hours a week and provide care 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Fridays. As a valued member of the team, the Associate O.D will influence business objectives, office promotion activities, and employee relations. For the right candidate, a future ownership opportunity may be available.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.
Minimum qualifications include:
  • Doctor of Optometry license in the state of New York
  • New graduates will be considered
