Job description

O'Neal Steel currently has an opening for a Regional General Manager. This role can be based at any of our Northern O'Neal Steel locations.
General Description
The Regional General Manager is responsible for leading all commercial activities within an assigned geographic region while maintaining accountability for the overall profitability and performance of the distribution and processing business within that region. This role provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for commercial growth, customer development, margin expansion, operational alignment, and market share growth.
This role must develop and execute district specific strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, customer retention, and operational effectiveness across multiple locations. Using data analytics, market intelligence, financial reporting, and key performance metrics, this individual makes informed business decisions that optimize commercial performance, enhance customer value, and improve overall regional results.
Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
  • Lead and direct all commercial activities within the assigned region.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to commercial personnel.
  • Develop and execute regional commercial strategies designed to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Establish annual commercial plans, budgets, forecasts, and performance targets for assigned locations.
  • Monitor and evaluate regional performance against established goals and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Drive strategic account development, customer retention, and new business growth initiatives throughout the region.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company commercial processes, programs, and initiatives.

  • Manage regional expenses and ensure responsible stewardship of company resources.
  • Participate in pricing strategy development and margin management activities to maximize profitability.

  • Provide market intelligence, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to senior leadership.
  • Identify emerging market trends and growth opportunities.

  • Foster strong communication and collaboration across all functional areas to support customer success and business performance.

  • Build and maintain a high-performing culture that reflects company values and leadership expectations.
  • Lead the adoption and execution of omni-channel commercial initiatives, including eCommerce platforms and digital technologies, to strengthen customer relationships and drive sustainable growth.

Required Skills and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial leadership experience, preferably within the metals distribution, processing, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic commercial plans that drive profitable growth.
  • Strong leadership skills, including talent development, performance management, organizational planning, and change leadership.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of financial statements, profitability drivers, pricing strategies, and operational impacts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial activities associated with metals distribution and processing, including market dynamics, customer requirements, and competitive positioning.
