Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Jacksonville, Florida, known for its welcoming community atmosphere and access to various recreational and cultural activities. The work schedule is structured from Monday to Friday, allowing for a balanced work-life integration. You will engage in collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork within a supportive environment aimed at achieving optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth patient assessments and gather comprehensive medical histories to ensure accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment planning.
  • Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care efforts and optimize health outcomes for patients of all ages.
  • Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate treatment plans based on individual patient needs and findings.
  • Administer vaccinations, prescriptions, and other medications while providing patients with essential education regarding preventive measures.
  • Monitor chronic conditions and ensure effective management through coordination of referrals to specialists when necessary.
  • Utilize the EPIC EMR system to maintain precise and timely documentation of patient visits and encounters.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and keep abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the medical field.
  • Prioritize preventive care practices to enhance overall patient wellness and improve quality of life.
  • Deliver empathetic, patient-centered care and develop trusting relationships with both patients and their families.
  • Adhere to all ethical guidelines and legal standards in medical practice while maintaining confidentiality for all patient information.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient demographic, including newborns, children, adults, and the elderly. This role emphasizes a holistic approach to health, integrating preventive care and chronic condition management with an eye towards empowering patients through education and support.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Active Physician Assistant Certification and state licensure required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred.
  • A Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies is desired.
  • Strong skill set in active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, and sound judgment.
Preferred Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in a family practice setting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the EPIC EMR system or similar electronic medical record platform.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Compensation and Benefits
