• Conduct comprehensive assessments that evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients.
• Work collaboratively with clients to create personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs, goals, and preferences.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), utilizing appropriate tools and methodologies.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, discussing treatment options and effective self-care strategies.
• Track and monitor clients' progress throughout the treatment process, making timely adjustments to care plans as needed.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure integrated and holistic treatment for clients.
• Stay current with the latest research and developments in the treatment of mood disorders to inform your therapeutic approach.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client sessions and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in case consultations and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and learn about best practices.
• Advocate for clients by promoting the de-stigmatization of mood disorders and addressing their mental health needs with compassion.

As a Mental Health Counselor at Horizon Spring Leaf Counseling, you will primarily work with individuals experiencing mood disorders, including depression and anxiety. Our clients often seek assistance during challenging times in their lives, and your role will be crucial in guiding them towards understanding and managing their conditions. You will play a key role in fostering resilience and supporting clients in their personal growth journeys.

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York.
• Proficiency in evidence-based treatment methods for mood disorders, specifically CBT and DBT.
• A solid understanding of psychopharmacology and an ability to coordinate closely with other medical professionals.
• A proven track record of effectively treating mood disorders and achieving positive client outcomes.
• Exceptional communication skills with an ability to build rapport with diverse client populations.

• Three years of experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly with mood disorders.
• Experience working in telehealth settings or providing remote therapy to enhance client accessibility.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient documentation practices.
