Program Overview


The Early Career Engineering Rotational Program (Mechanical) is designed for recent graduates seeking hands-on experience across the lifecycle of distributed energy systems. This program provides structured rotations across Engineering, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and Solutions Engineering/EPC, with each rotation lasting approximately 9 months.


Participants will gain exposure to mechanical systems supporting power generation, including engines, cooling systems, fuel systems, and balance-of-plant equipment while also developing cross-functional knowledge in project execution and field operations.

This program offers a unique opportunity to build both technical depth and operational understanding in a fast-growing energy company.


What You'll Do

  • Rotate across Engineering, O&M, and Solutions Engineering/EPC teams over a ~27-month programย 
  • Support mechanical design and system layout for power generation and microgrid systems
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems
  • Gain exposure to generators, engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, and auxiliary equipment
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical and operational issues
  • Work closely with field teams to understand real-world operations and maintenance practices
  • Support project execution, including vendor coordination, scheduling, and field activities
  • Analyze system performance, efficiency, and reliability data
  • Contribute to technical documentation, procedures, and engineering deliverables
  • Learn and apply safety standards, compliance requirements, and operational best practices


Requirements

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (recent graduate or within 1-2 years of experience) Foundational knowledge of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, and fluid systems Strong interest in power generation, energy systems, or industrial equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Ability to be based in Houston, TX and travel to field sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or co-op experience in energy, manufacturing, oil & gas, or industrial environments
  • Exposure to rotating equipment, engines, or power systems
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)ย 
  • Interest in hands-on engineering work or field operations
