Job description

At Valleywise Hospital, we believe every birth is a miracle, and every mother deserves compassionate, expert care. We're on the hunt for a dedicated and skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse (RN) who thrives in the fast-paced, awe-inspiring world of childbirth. If you have a heart for moms, a keen eye for details, and the skills to ensure smooth, safe deliveries, we'd love to have you on our team!
Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39
This is a PM role with an 18% weekday differential and 26% weekend differential.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing.

Experience:
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities; or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health then must have at least one (1) year of Valleywise Health experience as a RN and be in good standing.

Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice:
    • Must have ACLS and NRP upon hire or within six (6) months of hire or transfer if new grad/new to service. New grad/new to service RN, complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within twelve (12) months of hire. Experienced L&D RN, obtain AWHONN Fetal Monitoring within six (6) months of hire. AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring must be completed after two (2) years of L&D experience. AWHONN Fetal Monitoring will be renewed every two (2) years.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g. formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.
  • Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
