What Is The Opportunity?

Aecon's Urban Transportation Solutions team is looking to hire three (3) Project Coordinators on a full-time permanent basis, who will be responsible for assisting in the overall planning and coordinating of construction activities to ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

They will take part in a 16-month Project Coordinator Rotation Program which will enable new graduates to be exposed to a variety of disciplines within the Urban Transportation Solutions sector, such as Bids & Pursuits, Systems Implementation, Project Controls, and Construction, subject to change. The 16-month rotation experience will allow new grads to expand their knowledge in these disciplines and lead to a permanent role after completion.

Please note this position is ideally for new grad students that have completed their under-grad or post-grad in Engineering or Construction.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Bids & Pursuits
    • Support the preparation of bid submissions, including quantity takeoffs and cost data gathering.
    • Assist with compiling subcontractor and supplier pricing.
    • Help analyze drawings, specifications, and scope requirements.
    • Maintain bid trackers, documentation, and version control.
    • Participate in bid reviews and internal coordination meetings.
    • Support risk and opportunity identification during the bidding phase.
  • Systems Implementation
    • Assist with the rollout and adoption of project management and reporting systems.
    • Support data entry, validation, and system testing activities.
    • Help develop user guides, training materials, and process documentation.
    • Liaise with project teams to gather system requirements and feedback.
    • Track system issues, enhancements, and resolution status.
    • Support change management initiatives related to new tools and processes.
  • Project Controls
    • Assist with schedule updates, cost tracking, and performance reporting.
    • Support progress measurement and forecast analysis.
    • Help prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
    • Maintain project controls documentation and data accuracy.
    • Coordinate with project teams to collect schedule and cost inputs.
    • Support risk, change management, and trend tracking processes.
  • Construction
    • Support field teams with daily coordination and reporting activities.
    • Assist with tracking site progress, labour, equipment, and material usage.
    • Help maintain site documentation including RFIs, deficiencies, and daily logs.
    • Participate in site meetings and coordination sessions.
    • Support health, safety, and quality compliance documentation.

What You Bring To The Team:

  • Engineering / Engineering Technologist / Construction Technology Diploma, Degree, or Post-grad Certificate required.
  • Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.
  • Sound computer skills - MS Excel / Lotus,  MS Word , MS Project, AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills - oral and written.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with others as a team.

The expected pay range for this role is $65,000 - $70,000 per year

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
