Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to Antepartum, Labor & Delivery (including high-risk), postpartum, and Level 2 nursery patients
  • Work within an LDRP unit following AWHONN staffing guidelines based on patient acuity
  • Maintain staffing ratios of 1:1 for laboring patients and 1:3 for postpartum patients
  • Support antepartum and postpartum assignments; care for clean gynecological surgical patients as needed
  • Practice Baby-Friendly unit standards and protocols
  • Float to other departments (e.g., med/surg, emergency) on a rotation basis with permanent staff during surge periods
Required Qualifications
  • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in L&D, postpartum, and Level 2 nursery
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current NRP certification
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) competency
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen; position is located on a drug-free campus
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • 2 or more years of OB/GYN nursing experience preferred
  • Experience with EPIC (Community Works) electronic health records
  • Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems
  • Demonstrated dependability, positive attitude, and self-motivation in a travel or high-acuity setting
