Position Summary

The Project Public Relations & Communication Coordinator supports public relations, internal communications, and stakeholder engagement activities for a major project. This entry-level role is designed for recent graduates or early-career professionals interested in communications, community relations, public affairs, and stakeholder engagement within a project environment.

The position works closely with project teams, client representatives, corporate communications professionals, local communities, and public stakeholders to support communication initiatives, outreach activities, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement programs.

In addition, the Project Public Relations & Communication Coordinator assists with communication planning, content creation, community outreach activities, internal communications, and project messaging to support successful engagement with internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

Support stakeholder mapping activities and maintain stakeholder contact databases

Assist in developing and distributing communication materials for employees, community members, public authorities, and other stakeholders

Prepare project updates, newsletters, presentations, fact sheets, and other communication materials

Support execution of communication plans aligned with project and client objectives

Assist in identifying and utilizing communication channels to effectively reach target audiences

Coordinate internal communication initiatives and employee engagement activities

Maintain communication calendars and schedules

Support planning and logistics for project events, community meetings, town halls, and stakeholder engagement activities

Assist with content creation including articles, photography, videos, and digital communications

Organize and maintain communication assets including photo libraries and project communication materials

Compliance / Operational Responsibilities

Ensure communication materials comply with company branding and communication guidelines

Support review of communication content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency

Maintain organized records of communication activities and stakeholder interactions

Follow communication procedures, standards, and best practices

Support communication efforts related to project milestones, events, and community initiatives

Assist with coordination activities involving local agencies and community organizations

Support project functions including HSE, Quality, Compliance, and Operations with communication-related needs

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling project communications

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, Business, or a related field

0-2 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, community relations, event coordination, or a related area

Relevant internships, co-op experience, campus leadership, volunteer work, or student organization involvement

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse audiences

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

Internship or project experience in corporate communications, public relations, marketing, or community engagement

Experience creating content for newsletters, websites, social media platforms, or publications
