Job Title: New CarPorterDepartment: New Car Sales
Reports To: New Car Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
The Porter is responsible for the safe movement, basic maintenance, and presentation of dealership vehicles. This includes organizing the vehicle lot, cleaning vehicles, and assisting dealership staff as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Move vehicles to and from service lanes, parking areas, and other dealership locations.
โ€ข Clean vehicles inside and out, which includes vacuuming, washing, and ensuring that the cars are presentable for customers.
โ€ข May also perform light maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels.
โ€ข Keep the lot and service areas clean, safe, and well-organized.
โ€ข Install buyer guides, stock tags, and key tags in vehicles.
โ€ข Dispose of debris and maintain general dealership cleanliness.
โ€ข Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills:
  • Ability to work independently and follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Basic communication and organizational skills.

Work Environment:
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather condition
  • Fast-paced dealership setting

โ€ข Frequent walking, lifting, and moving of vehicles.
FLSA Status Clarification:
This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek. The employee is entitled to meal and rest breaks in accordance with applicable state and federal labor laws.
