Position Type: Locum Tenens
Specialty: Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Location: Massachusetts
Rate: $120/hr on 1099 with Travel, Lodging and Malpractice Coverage
Shift: 3 x 13-Hour Day Shifts | 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Start Date: 09/07/2026
End Date: 13-Week Assignment

Position Details:

Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics

Setting: Inpatient Hospital Neurosurgery Service

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily rounds with Neurosurgery residents
  • Review patient care plans and enter orders
  • Evaluate and manage inpatient neurosurgical patients
  • Coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and follow-up
  • Provide direct patient care on the Neurosurgery service
  • No operating room responsibilities

Required Skills/Procedures:

  • Inpatient Neurosurgery Management
  • Order Entry and Care Coordination
  • Discharge Management
  • Preferred: Removal of Hemovac and JP Drains

EMR System: Epic

Support Structure:

  • Neurosurgery Resident Program
  • Multidisciplinary Inpatient Neurosurgery Team

Schedule:

  • 3 Shifts Per Week
  • 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • No Nights
  • No Holiday Coverage

On-Call/Weekends: No Call Required

Submission Requirements:
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
  • Active Massachusetts License Required
  • Minimum 1 Year of Neurosurgery Experience Required
  • Epic Experience Required
