As a member of the region's premiere Neurosciences Institute, you will join a multidisciplinary team including five neurosurgeons, one who is a board certified neurosurgeon and cerebrovascular/endovascular specialist, three neurohospitalists, eight neurologists, two neuroradiologists, and one neurointerventional neurologist, plus experienced advanced practice providers. UPMC Hamot is a Level II trauma center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. With the UPMC affiliation, this is an outstanding opportunity to have the best of all worlds by providing comprehensive care at the regional referral hub.
Position Highlights:
• The ideal candidate is fellowship trained and BC/BE in Neurological Surgery
• Typical cases include neurotrauma, brain tumors, complex spinal surgery, cerebrovascular disease and/or endovascular interventional radiology
• 80% spine / 20% brain cases in a busy, high-volume practice
• Healthy integration of career and personal time
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative disposition
• The physician will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary conferences, quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the teaching of medical students and residents
