Description

Job Title: Neuropsychologist

Location: Hybrid with onsite in Waltham

Position Type: Full-Time

The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.

Summary of position

Reporting to the Director of Assessment Services, the Neuropsychologist provides high quality neuropsychological and psychological testing to a culturally diverse population of children and young adults ages 2-22. The Neuropsychologist will work in collaboration with a highly trained team of evidence-based practice clinicians to empower neurodiverse children and adolescents and their families to understand the childs cognitive, social emotional and academic profile.

The Neuropsychologist provides high fidelity cognitive, educational, developmental, psychological, and neuropsychological evaluation and testing services to children ages 2-22 presenting with a range of neurodevelopmental difficulties. These may include ADHD, disruptive behaviors, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities/dyslexia, trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, as well as medical and neurological conditions (e.g., epilepsy, concussion/mTBI, etc), and other challenges.

We are actively developing an ambitious, multidisciplinary pediatric neuropsychology program and are seeking a motivated, collegial and compassionate pediatric neuropsychologist who is excited to work collaboratively with the Director in continuing to develop the assessment service and expand the training program. This position is open to early and mid-career candidates with experience conducting neuropsychological/neurodevelopmental assessments.

Essential duties
  • Conducts approximately 8-10 comprehensive assessments per month, with bonus opportunities for completing additional evaluations.
  • Clearly and empathically communicates assessment findings to family members, clients, and referral sources.
  • Completes all reports and clinical documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with American Psychological Association professional standards and in compliance with current policies.
  • Attends required meetings and adheres to department policies and procedures.
  • Provides training and/or education about cognitive, educational, developmental, psychological, and neuropsychological evaluation to parents, other laypersons, providers, policymakers or others as assigned or needed.
Requirements Qualifications Education
  • Licensed Psychologist and Health Service Provider in Massachusetts in good standing or eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts required.
  • Graduate of APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical or School Psychology.
  • Completion of APA-accredited internship.
  • Specialty training in neuropsychology (consistent with Houston/Minnesota Conference guidelines), including a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology .
  • Board Certification in Neuropsychology is preferred; board certification eligible applicants are also encouraged to apply.
Experience
  • This position is open to early and mid-career candidates with experience conducting neuropsychological/neurodevelopmental assessments.
  • Experience conducting early childhood, cognitive, educational, developmental, and neuropsychological testing.
Training
  • Computer proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Work, and experience working with electronic medial/health records (EMR/EHR).
  • Experience or familiarity with evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, MATCH, TF-CBT, PCIT, ERP and SPACE Treatment) is beneficial.
