• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings that evaluate clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and treatment needs to inform individualized care plans.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans that not only address addiction management but also incorporate interventions for co-occurring mental health disorders, ensuring holistic treatment.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions using recognized evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to foster engagement and support clients in their recovery journey.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including medical providers, case managers, and support staff to ensure coordinated, efficient, and aligned care for clients.
• Educate clients’ families about substance use disorders and the recovery process, providing resources to promote involvement and support.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical guidelines, ensuring precise documentation of treatment progress and modifications.

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will work primarily with adults struggling with substance abuse issues, including those facing co-occurring mental health challenges. Your counseling efforts will contribute significantly to improving the quality of life for a diverse clientele, guiding them toward sustainable recovery and long-term sobriety.

• A valid license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• A master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field is essential.
• Demonstrated specialization in addiction counseling or substance abuse treatment is preferred.
• Proficiency with evidence-based practices for treating substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Strong therapeutic and counseling skills with a proven ability to build rapport and motivate clients.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and teamwork capabilities, essential for working within a collaborative treatment environment.

• Previous experience in a substance abuse treatment setting, particularly in outpatient services.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
• Experience with family therapy or support modalities is a plus.
