Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' substance use history and associated mental health conditions.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address both substance use disorders and underlying mental health issues.
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
- Collaborate effectively with a diverse treatment team, including physicians, nurses, and case managers, to coordinate integrated care.
- Provide support and education to clients’ families, helping them understand their loved one’s recovery process and how to be involved in it.
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential client records complying with all regulatory and ethical standards.
As a Mental Health Counselor at our substance abuse treatment center, you will work primarily with individuals struggling with addiction and related mental health conditions. Our clients often come from diverse backgrounds and face unique challenges in their recovery journey. Qualifications- A current and valid clinical license, either as a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
- A master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong therapeutic skills with demonstrated ability to connect with and motivate clients in their recovery efforts.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills necessary for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary group.
- Specialized training or experience in substance abuse counseling and treatment.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices addressing co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology and electronic health record (EHR) systems for client documentation and tracking progress.
