Job description

Pay: $25-$35+/hour, (Additional premium rates available based on credentials and experience) Hours: ~2-10 hrs/week to start, room to grow Location: In-home across California

About the Role

At Tutor Me Education, we connect passionate educators with neurodivergent students for high-impact, 1:1 in-home tutoring. As an In-Home Special Education Tutor, you'll deliver personalized academic instruction, socio-emotional support, and patient behavioral guidance aligned to each student's learning style and IEP goals - right in their home.

This is a flexible, part-time W-2 employee role. Start with one student (~2-10 hrs/week) and take on additional students whenever you'd like to grow your hours and income.

What You'll Do
  • Lead engaging 1:1 sessions tailored to students with diverse learning needs
  • Implement creative lesson plans aligned to each student's IEP goals (full resources and support from our team)
  • Adapt academic materials to each student's unique learning profile
  • Track progress after each session and keep open, empathetic communication with parents and guardians
  • Foster a safe, inclusive environment that builds confidence and resilience
Who We're Looking For
  • AA, BA, or higher (Special Education, Psychology, or Education preferred)
  • Hands-on experience supporting students with special needs or learning differences (e.g., ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia) - currently enrolled college students with this experience are encouraged to apply
  • Empathy, patience, and a student-first approach
  • Reliable vehicle for local travel to client homes
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a strong plus - premium rates available for bilingual matches
Pay

$25-$35+ per hour, based on your credentials, specialization, and the needs of the student you're matched with. Most roles fall in the $25-$35+ range; higher rates apply for credentialed or specialized tutors, higher-need cases, and bilingual (Spanish/English) matches.
