Job description

Epsilon C5I, a 100% employee-owned company founded in 1998, is seeking a Mid-level AI/ML Engineer (SE2) to join our team as we advance the State-of-the-Art in artificial intelligence for the intelligence community and autonomy applications. Our products are used to improve our nation's capability by improving decision making that currently relies on extensive human interaction within the US Air Force, Space Force, and Department of Defense.

What You'll Do:
  • Design and train neural networks for various applications
  • Analyze and manipulate multi-dimensional tabular, meta-, and geospatial imagery data
  • Interpret results and compare with truth data
  • Conduct post processing and data reduction
  • Write analysis reports and create briefings
  • Work independently and within a team of multi-disciplined engineers and provide guidance and support to colleagues

Required Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
  • Applicants must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, with SCI eligibility.
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
  • 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong background in the following:
    • Collecting labeled data and Neural Network (NN) training
    • Programming: Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras
    • Satellite imagery, image processing, and geospatial-temporal image data
    • Geospatial vector graphics and Self-Organizing Map (SOM) data
    • Computer vision, Vector embedding, and similarity search
    • CI/CD, AWS, and ML Ops pipelines
    • Graph database concepts and PostgreSQL databases with vector store (pgVector), audit (pgAudit), edit (pgAdmin), and geographic (PostGIS) capability
    • Acquiring data and data wrangling for NN and transformer training and prompting
    • Automated data pulling from web-based Application Programming Interfaces (API)
    • Graph Neural Network (GNN) and Point Transformers (PT), training GNNs and PTs, and extracting embedding vectors and likelihoods
    • Vision Transformer frameworks, training transformers, and extracting embedding vectors and likelihoods
    • Large Language Models (LLM) and implementing templates to guide responses
    • Vision Language Models (VLM) and Visual Question Answering (VQA)
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
