Business Overview

Neuberger Private Debt is a leading private debt investment platform. Today, Neuberger Private Debt manages over $25 billion to credit investing in high quality North American companies owned by private equity firms. The Private Debt team sits within Neuberger Alternatives, which has over $144 billion of investor commitments dedicated to private markets investing.

Position Overview

The team is looking for a Senior Associate / VP level candidate to join in 2026. This is a tremendous opportunity to join a fast‑growing credit fund which provides senior associates with great opportunities to play a major role in the investment process. The team is targeting private credit Senior Associates and VPs who are self‑motivated, have demonstrated strong credit technical ability, and are interested in investing and understanding business models. Top performers will have the opportunity to grow within the firm long‑term.

Responsibilities
  • Lead deals with junior associates and some oversight from SVPs
  • Perform in‑depth valuation analysis of private companies
  • Prepare due diligence materials, screening, and investment committee memos with limited mistakes/changes
  • Present deals to the Neuberger Private Debt team and IC
  • Lead legal documentation process (with oversight from SVPs depending on experience)
  • Manage deal and portfolio monitoring analysis with a junior associate and SVP
  • Train and mentor junior associates in all deal processes
  • Support fund marketing and existing client requests
Qualifications
  • Excellent academic credentials (both undergraduate school and GPA)
  • 5‑7 years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, private or public credit investment funds, and/or private equity
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct private credit / private equity experience; minimum of 5 years if VP candidate
  • Strong technical foundation in corporate finance and accounting
  • Strong quantitative abilities, including experience in financial modeling and valuation
  • Strong judgment, critical thinking, and written skills; ability to articulate and present ideas effectively both orally and in written form
  • Demonstrate objectivity, integrity, accountability in investment recommendations
  • Demonstrate initiative and creativity in approach to problem solving; demonstrated experience in conducting research and interacting with others to develop solutions
  • Show ability to multi‑task with a fine‑tuned attention to detail
  • Team‑player attitude and a desire to work on a wide range of projects
  • Visa sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates. Sponsorship decisions will be made in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $185,000–$200,000. The range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
